A natural limestone gallery of surreal stalactite formations visited since the Tang dynasty
Reed Flute Cave (Ludiyan) is a 180-million-year-old limestone cavern 5 km from Guilin city, with a 240-metre passage leading through chambers of dramatic stalactites, stalagmites, and illuminated stone formations. The cave has been a tourist attraction since at least the Tang dynasty — over 70 ancient inscriptions in the walls attest to centuries of visitors.
