Sobre Parque del Tigre Siberiano

The Harbin Siberian Tiger Park (Dongbei Tiger Forest Park) is the world's largest Siberian tiger captive breeding facility and a major conservation programme for the Amur (Siberian) tiger, one of the most endangered large cats on Earth. Founded in 1986 with just eight tigers, the park today houses over 500 individuals and has been central to preventing the extinction of the subspecies. Visitors tour the park in caged minibuses that drive through open paddocks where tigers roam freely — in some zones as few as 2–3 metres from the vehicle windows. Live prey feeding (with purchased chickens or cows) remains controversial but continues as an attraction. The park also breeds white tigers, Sumatran tigers, and lions. Conservation credentials are mixed — while genuine breeding work occurs, the commercial feeding shows are criticised by some wildlife groups. Located about 40 minutes from central Harbin; best combined with a morning visit to Sun Island across the river.
