Tungkol sa Shigatse

The Tashilhunpo Monastery complex is vast — a city within a city — containing dozens of temples, assembly halls, golden-roofed tombs of the Panchen Lamas, and the world's largest gilded statue of the Maitreya Buddha at 26.2 metres high. Shigatse sits on the overland Friendship Highway route to Nepal, making it a key overnight stop for epic cross-Himalayan journeys. Mount Everest Base Camp lies approximately 6 hours to the south, and the Rongbuk Monastery — the world's highest monastery — is nearby.
