Yabuli sits on the southern slope of Changbai Mountain and benefits from reliable natural snowfall from November through March. The resort has been significantly upgraded in recent years with new lifts, gondolas, and hotel facilities catering to China's booming ski tourism market. Beyond skiing, winter activities include dog sledding, snowmobile tours, ice fishing, and hot spring soaks in the mountain valley. Harbin makes an excellent urban base to combine with Yabuli skiing and the January Ice Festival.

Cold subarctic mountain climate. Winters long and cold (avg -16°C in January, lows -30°C). Natural snowfall reliable November–March. Summers warm and green (avg 22°C). The ski season runs approximately December to late March.
From Harbin: 180 km by road (approximately 2.5 hours by car) or by high-speed train to Yabuli South Station (2 hrs). Direct buses from various Harbin stations. Harbin Taiping Airport (HRB) is the nearest international gateway. Resort shuttles run from the train station to the ski area.
Book ski passes and accommodation well in advance for January–February peak season
Equipment rental is available at the resort — quality has improved significantly in recent years
The resort has terrain for all levels; beginners are well served at the base area
Hot spring hotels at the resort base are excellent value for post-ski relaxation
Combine Yabuli skiing (1–2 days) with Harbin city (2–3 days) and China Snow Town for a complete northeast winter itinerary
