Muslim Quarter

Xi'an's Muslim Quarter (Huijie) is a dense labyrinth of food stalls, spice shops, and traditional Islamic architecture surrounding the Great Mosque, where the Hui community has lived for over 1,000 years. The quarter's culinary offerings — rou jia mo (Chinese hamburger), yang rou pao mo (bread soaked in lamb broth), and biangbiang hand-torn noodles — are among China's most celebrated street foods.
