Wenshu Monastery

Wenshu Monastery (Wenshu Yuan) is the best-preserved Buddhist temple in Chengdu, dedicated to Manjushri (Wenshu), the Bodhisattva of Wisdom, with five main halls dating back to the Tang dynasty. The monastery houses one of the city's most beloved teahouses where locals spend lazy afternoons over jasmine tea and mahjong — an authentic slice of Chengdu's teahouse culture.
